December Update
Hello Members:
Our December general meeting will be our annual election meeting for new trustees to replace the 3 outgoing trustees whose terms are expiring. If you want to help out your club, consider running for election. It’s only a three-year commitment. Up to 6 names can run with 3 of those being nominated from the floor.
Also at the December meeting, there will be a plaque dedication for our NOSC Wall of Fame in the name of Steve Santa who passed away this summer. Steve was a long-time member, trustee, and was very instrumental in various upgrades and improvements to the club. He will be missed.
Be sure to check out our new webpage! This has been a huge project that has needed done for many years, and the results are impressive! Special thanks to Brian Davis and Carl Eichler who led the work, as well as Ken Hawkinson and Bill Prest who provided assistance. Many volunteer hours went into this important and needed project.
Food will be provided at the election meeting and there will be a swap meet in the range as well. Bring your extra or unwanted items to sell or trade.
While shooting on the range, be mindful of where your bullets are going. We’ve had some bullet strikes on the ceiling. Luckily, none of them exited the confines of the range. If when shooting, you don’t see any hits on your target, please stop and find out why. Ask for help with sight alignment/adjustment or move up to the 21′ line until you get control of your firearm.
Thank you, Larry.

Summer Update
Our June, 2024 general meeting will be the last one for the summer. There will be a swap meet in the range area for those who are interested in selling/swapping merchandise. There will also be pizza provided during the general meeting.
Our summer .22 program kicks off on Monday, June 10th at 7pm. All members are invited to join along for some friendly competition. The only equipment needed is a 22lr caliber pistol and ammo. We will be firing from the 50 ft. line, one handed at standard B2 and B3 targets.
Our “Ladies Day at the Range” was a success as we had two groups of ladies totaling 31 participants. Thanks to Tom Fisher for organizing the event and to Ray Kling and Julie Amstberg for providing the safety and technical presentation. Also thanks to all of our RSO/CRSO for volunteering their time to safely instruct the ladies on handling, loading, and firing the pistols. Our purpose of the event was to introduce ladies who have never handled or fired a handgun to the sport, and hopefully sign up a few new members to our club.
The public side of our Club’s website is in the process of getting a facelift. We are asking members to take pictures of various shooting or social events and submit them to be included on the new website. Please be mindful of member’s privacy and don’t take pictures of them without their approval. We are also asking members to submit written testimonials of why you enjoy being a member of NOSC! You can send your submissions via email to President@nosc-online.com.
There is a rule change that was voted on by the board unanimously to allow RSO/CRSO holders to be allowed to shoot on the indoor range alone. All RSO/CRSO’s should have gotten the announcement sent recently via email. At this time the rule change only applies to the indoor range.
That is all for now, see you at the June meeting.
